Let's face it, there are some things that we just can't imagine ourselves living without. I'm not talkling food/water/shelter type nescessities. I am talking stomp my foot, pull my hair if I run out of these beauty product necessities. Now this post won't be a detailed review of my favorite things, you can expect that later, but it will be a quick overview of what rocks my world and why. Without further adieu; Here are my ten must have-cannot live without-beauty products.
1. Revlon ColorStay foundation:
This covers everything and gives me a natural matte finish that is never cakey. I feel naked without it. See my previous post for a full review! Can be found at any drugstore and various etailers.
2. MAC Studio Finish concealor:
Covers anything that I don't want the world to see. It has a creamy, easily blendable consistency with full coverage and opacity. As long as I am sure to set it with powder it lasts all day. Can be found at your MAC counter, store, prostore, http://www.maccosmetics.com and other etailers.
3. Jojoba oil:
A blessing for my skin, paired with African Black Soap my acne has finally been stopped in its tracks. Great for any skin types but especially for acne prone and oily skin. I use this as a makeup remover and moisturizer. It will not clog your pores and actually regulates oil production. Waterproof makeup melts off like butter. You can purchase at your local health foods store and various etailers such as amazon.com, coastalscents.com, acne.org etc.
4. African Black Soap:
Cue the angels singing--this stuff literally changed my life. I have battled acne for as long as i can remember--until I discovered this funky looking soap. It clears acne, tones my skin, has helped remove comodones, tightened my pores, and even fades pigmentation and scarring. It works, lasts forever, and is cheap cheap cheap! You can find it on amazon.com, coastalscents.com, and various etailors as well as natural food and ethnic markets.
5. Clarisonic Pro:
My best battery powered friend (well maybe my 2nd best friend...wink wink...). This lil guy exfoliates and polishes my skin to perfection. Leaves my skin soft, supple, and my pores clear and clean. It's especially great for getting rid of winter time flakies and giving you a true glow. You wouldn't believe the difference what essentially is a sonic powered toothbrush for your face, can make. I got mine from Sephora.com but as usual various etailers carry it, you can even get it at your local Macy's these days.
6. Makeup Forever HD Finishing Powder:
this silica based finishing powder sets makeup like no other. It is so finely milled you could literally pack it on your face without looking cakey. Silica based powders are perfect for oily skin and help your face stay put for hours. Find it at Sephora and various etailers.
7. Philosophy Hope in a Jar:
I'm not a spring chicken anymore, and even though I have oily skin, i still require some added moisture. I use a small amount of this and add two drops of jojoba oil each time i wash my face. The lactic acid acts as a gentle chemical exfoliator and truly gives your skin a glow. Since starting it i have noticed a reduction in fine lines around my eyes as well as crepeiness in eye skin. Find it at sephora, ulta, QVC, various etailors, and if you're lucky like me, T.J. Maxx.
8. Nars Blush in Gilda:
Nars sets the standard for blush quality and Gilda is my most used Nars blush. It's a pretty matte peach that is easy to blend and lasts all day. Find it at Sephora, Ulta, and various etailors.
9. Sigma Pencil Brush:
I could literally do an entire eye look with my pencil brush. It's a lifesaver for girls with a hooded or heavy lid who know the importance of precise creasework. It is soft, durable, and reasonably priced. Find it at http://www.sigmabeauty.com or amazon.com
10. Wet n Wild black creme liner:
My favorite creme liner. It is inky black and creamy smooth. It glides across the lid and does not budge until you want it to. I love it for it's lasting power on my waterline and also for use as a black base for sexy smokey looks. Any drugstore that sells Wet n Wild carries it so it can't be easier to find.
I would love to hear what your favorite products you can't live without are. Of course, I have tons of prodcuts i could have included in this post...but they will just have to wait for another day, another post. Untill then...stay pretty ;)
...Amy...
