Wet n Wild Wednesday: The Comfort Zone
Hands down my most favorite drug store company has got to be Wet n Wild. I know some of you are scoffing at this-thinking of the cheap products that you remember from your childhood. Do your homework, read the reviews on these products, and I am confident you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality of the company, especially the eyeshadows. As huge as my collecion is you can imagine my struggles when trying to decide where to start my first post in the Wet n Wild Wednesdays. After some deliberation I decided on my favorite 8 pan palette--Comfort Zone.
Packaging: This pallete features Wet n Wild's typical black and clear plastic packaging with eight pans of shadow, four on each side. As usual, don't expect to be impressed with the packaging. I feel that their lack of extravagant packaging is part of the reason why Wet n Wild's products are so amazingly affordable.
Colors:
The left side of the pan includes a pale shimmery gold champagne, a shimmery pink shadow (which is a dupe for Stila's Kitten), a shimmery bronzed brown, and a deep warm brown with bronze sparkles.
The right side includes a griege shimmer, a light mossy green shimmer, a deep olive with silver and gold sparkles, and, my favorite, a warm brown with greenish teal duochrome ( MAC Club dupe).
Performance: This pallette is one of the most buttery smooth in my collection. The colors are all richly pigmented highly unique and last all day when used over a primer. Because I never apply shadows without a primer, I cannot speak to the performance of the shadows without one, but I've heard some people have had success. The texture of the shadows is incredibly soft so take care with your brushes and not get too swipe crazy. There is minimal fallout with the glitter shades which can be nixed if you apply a sticky base like Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, or Hard Candy Show Girl's Secret. A multitude of looks can be created with this pallete, from subtle and natural, to dramatic and smokey.
The last word: Purchase this product anywhere that retails Wet n Wild for $4.99. For me this is CVS, Walgreens, or Kmart. It is absolute must-have for me and I'll be heartbroken if they ever discontinue the palette. Below are a couple looks I have created with the palette:
